Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Today I was thinking about how much technology has dominated our lives in this period of human history. We can get lost and disillusioned by the constant bombardment of digital content on various devices, cell phones and computers, and the rest. Technological advancements in so many areas of our lives fascinate and amaze us, so that we may look past what is there in the midst of our daily lives, calling to us, waiting for us faithfully to return - to return to our oneness with Christ Jesus.

Christ alone should be first in all of our endeavors no matter how small, or how great. He, by His eternal word, is our source of strength as we endure the trappings of this world, which often are born of darker things that exist. We can deflect these misusing’s of things that present themselves to us, so as to blind us to the reality of temporal life here on earth. These worldly escapes keep us from meditation and prayer on those things that are eternal and spiritual and of a divine nature. The Apostle Paul teaches “while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” Corinthians 4:18

Let us then be reminded of our divine nature in Christ and seek him in our lives so that we might find salvation from carnal and fleeting desires that will open the door to sin. Again, I say - return to the cross and seek God's wisdom and sacrifice through His son Jesus Christ, for as He constantly reminds us, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6

If we are faithful in seeking the truth of God's heart, then we will find a refuge away from the external forces that seek only to diminish the light that is Christ in us. Let us find the way and follow Him, giving Him thanks and praise, remembering thus, that which never changes is that which is real. That which is real and forever IS Christ Jesus, for He tells us, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.” Matthew 24:35 Thanks be to God!

Yours In Christ,

Br. M.
