A Vision of Peace
By
Br. M.
Brothers and Sisters,
Inner peace becomes outer peace. What and how we feel inside is what we will project onto the world around us. Why then not peace? We should strive for the inner peace we all search for. The peace we search for when we seek to quiet the urge to lash out at the world, to make others feel our own pain. What if we all could find that peace somehow? Our deepest, most spiritual existence resides in what we call our soul, that soul, that human spirit is constantly guiding us, speaking to us from a place of cosmic knowing, a universal consciousness, that flows eternally through us and for us. We must do our very best to listen to that universal voice and try to understand the message that is ours to share with others on our planet. That message is a message of non-resistance, non-violence, and love. Peace for all who are alive, and to honor those who have gone ahead of us into the cosmos because of violence.
Imagine a world that is practicing peace, a population defined by love for each other and the creatures here on earth. How much better the world would be if we all knew of the eternal peace that is all of ours to enjoy and share with others. How then can we get there? How do we make this dream of peace for all, a reality in our world? What about those who would not have peace, so that they could continue to profit from war and violence? How do we change hearts and minds about the idea of global peace?
The larger world around us seems so vast, filled with so many souls, we may wonder what can one person do to change the world? But we already know the answer, I see it in blog posts, articles, Facebook, twitter, a wide variety of peace organizations around the world, there are so many who already are doing the work of promoting peace on Earth – the answer is to be the peace you wish to see here. Begin in your own communities, hold a peace rally in your town, city, or suburb and sing aloud to your neighbors your intentions. Talk about the reasons behind your activities in the pursuit of peace. You must know why you do what you do. You must search your own soul about the world you wish to live in, and the kind of peaceful society you wish to be a part of, wherever you live, no matter the country.
Our lives are busy. Our own search for independence takes time and energy, and when we see or hear of terrible violence and war, it is difficult for us to imagine a world in which none of the ugliest parts of humanity exist. But we must. We must for the future of humanity.
We must not for the sake of our own souls, allow violence, or allow it into our psyche, or let it run and mingle with what is inside of us; it can become an unwanted guest that never leaves you, and may take over and convince you that there will always be violence and war here within and without.
This is not true. We can change the direction of humanity now. We can begin now to share a vision of peace with all of those around us. We can reach out now to so many because of technology and persistence. Don’t let the voice that tells you there are enough people working on this “idea” of peace on Earth, stop you in your own journey to peace. Help them, join the groups, help to organize and spread the eternal message of peace. Speak of it, write about it, and be that vision of peace on Earth.
Yours In Christ,
Br. M.
